Amaltas

Amaltas flowers teach you
that there’s a lightness to
abundance – an ease, a sense
of rhythm and flow you may
know only in seasons but
it is there with you, for you
if only you knew. Watch me
the flowers say
hold yourself lightly
let the wind sway you
your time is now and here
even if the sun is harsh and
the earth hard – simply shine
and shower on and when
that inner call sounds
let go and freely fall.

  1. This is one of my favourite flowers. Your poem evokes the elements and is gentle. Thank you, Charu.
    I also love the way your poems respond to other poems in DR. This one with Giti's theme of abundance. Hers about the moon, your poem on the moon. It's beautiful.

    1. Don't know where my comment disappeared.. Thank you, Geethanjali..
      Ya, I saw the resonance with the moon poems and was amazed. Responding to poems posted has been giving me a lot to think about and connect, it is true too
      Abundance came up because of Visu.
      Every year, thanks to DR I reflect through poetry on abundance and sometimes on the Visu konne poo
