For the first time since the lockdown,
this evening I rolled out my yoga mat.
Recalling in your voice the sequenced
poses and your coaxing, you go girl!
My body wound up in a held breath
I stood still as a mountain, and then
moved to standing briefly like a tree.
There’s a long, long way to go for me.
In this kinship of journeying, there is no
straight road from Charlottesville to
Chennai but I sure wish there would be.
Prompt #8 (a poem for a friend)

Woah, loved it! Kudos to the comraderie!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. The expression 'long way to go', followed by the real distance separating the friends is so cleverly done.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rashmi and Bhaswati
