Late night on the subway
two drunks folded neatly by the wall
happy
in their own way.
In the corner seat a woman
rolling her ankles to
ease the day’s weight.
The man beside her
doing the same
without noticing.
Two boys
college aged
speaking in the tired pitch
of day end.
In this small corner of the city
everybody is dreaming of home.
This is just perfect
