Beginnings bring with them a challenge, friend:
I wonder
always if each odyssey
Will end
with home and sweet Penelope
Or if disaster
is to be my end.
Will these,
my words, fortuitously bend
And circumvent
each maelstrom on the sea
Or are the crags
of some catastrophe
The ports to
which my poetasting tend?
To me some
comfort comes from worlds afar:
“Each
instance is some ending’s genesis
“And
endings always leave behind a spark
“In which a
billion new beginnings are
“Aflame
with radiant new impetus.
“For terra supernova, now, embark!”
