How do I say, 'I'm tired' in a way that becomes a poem?
Make the ache I feel heal someone else
in some far away place or some other time
when I'm long gone
How does one flame become a torch
passed on?
Some poems weren't even written down
but kept alive in mind after mind
for a thousand years
the poets known
only by their best lines
like that poet of the red earth and pouring rain
I need a line for a poem of the body in pain
