We are all Desdemonas to each other’s Othello. Bending our ears to tales we need to know. All That one sees and all that one hears, a binding Of imaginations - the alphabet of lives being Lived together. Tell me stories of jealous men Smothering their anguish in down and feather. Speak to me of battles fought – coffee table Slaughters and office space gore. I’ll tell you why I fell on my sword, why I sit in my tower hanging on To your every word, how I fasten my days To your bringing of your world to my bower. All that you say to me is exotic, everything An adventure, piratic, quixotic. Your life Outside mine seduces me, daughter Of kings, to marry our stories together And defy all conclusions, all foretold Endings.
