The beauty of new leaves in spring
jade, emerald, copper, tender green
leaves me no words for other things
Rose, yarrow, cherry, silverweed
as lovely to look at as any flower
Curled up, unfurling hour to hour
each lengthening day a new leaf learned
like pages in a book turned, turned.
gorgeous. That last repetition - so musical yet biblical.
