Mother

She's looking to the right and down

beyond the frame

and smiling

I can't make her turn

or see where her hands are

Maybe she's just said what she always used to say

In the land of the blind

the one-eyed man is king

when I was young and she was old

Now I am old and she's stopped time

in gold sari, hair not grey

Maybe the one-eyed man is kind

  1. Stunning poem GK; one in a gold sari. I love your quiet reflections.

  2. I relate so much with this poem. What universal depth you've packed in a few lines.
