When
once, almost shattered fully
I started floating away from my centre
a million tiny, shiny pieces never to find
each other again, she cast a net so fine, so
wide, and collected all of me unto herself
kneaded me with fresh soil, pressed flowers
into new skin she had me wrapped in and set
me out under a large tree to take in the world
anew, to grow new roots, new wings, new feet
new hair, new eyes – that would take me across
skies I had never seen before and this, in short
is how she saved my life when once, almost
shattered fully, I started floating away from
my centre – a million tiny, shiny pieces.
