How do the stems of the roses make leaves
at just the right places, perfectly spaced
and angled and shaped so the plant achieves
a geometry where no light goes to waste?
The peonies have buds on every stem
Ten on Guardian of the Monastery
seven on Spring Carnival. Good for them
but Island Minister has thirty three!
Everything grows fast when the days are long
I dig out the weeds and transplant the pots
but mostly I wonder at all that goes on
The garden in spring takes over my thoughts
roses are on your mind, i see :) Maybe I will use that as my inspiration today!
