My sister teaches herself
to do handstands.
Throwing her body up
against the living room wall.
Feet go above knees
above head above hands.
Her limbs learning new arrangements
new ways of togetherness.
This is no time to think
of falling
to hope for the world to be
righted and for you
to return to it unscathed.
Now only certainty
only faith.
My sister throws her legs
into the air.
The body does
what it is trusted to.
