Out in my balcony
Bamboo, desert rose –
one potted for outgrowing
its indoor water vase,
the other for its promise of surviving
life sapping heat.
I abide by what keeping each takes.
When all the wealth of weather
there is, is in the brief dowsing
of summer by a short spell of rains
how to grow?
Accepting of loss
joyous at the sight of a new leaf
as it buds, and I turn.
This is so lovely and hopeful, Anannya! Also, is that the bamboo we got you?
