Think of your mother
when you see a woman and her son at a café
each reading their separate books.
Think of your mother
when you feel the sharp joy
of seeing the first spring ducklings
still so new to this life.
Think of her
when you feel the weight of
all you must do
at your small age
or when you remember a
faraway smell
from childhood
or when a video on the internet
tells you to.
Think of your mother gently
and often.
But most of all
think of your mother
when you notice in yourself
that depthless generosity
that only she
could have given you.
how much i love this one, Avani <3 and what a wonderful poet you've become.
